The Fagus Factory was conceived as an industrial building with an already defined floor plan and structural system. Walter Gropius focused on the architectural articulation of the facade and the visual organization of the building.
Space and architecture are not communicated through mass or volume, but through light, rhythmic repetition, and visual permeability. The facade abandons its traditional role as a load-bearing element and becomes a lightweight envelope positioned in front of the structural frame, allowing structure and space to be perceived simultaneously.
Architecture does not appear as a stylistic gesture, but as a coherent consequence of use, construction, and production.
파구스 공장은 이미 확정된 평면과 구조 시스템 위에서 출발한 산업 건물이었습니다. 발터 그로피우스는 파사드의 건축적 표현과 건물의 시각적 구성에 집중하였습니다.
공간과 건축은 매스나 볼륨이 아니라, 빛과 리드미컬한 반복, 그리고 시각적 투명성을 통해 우리에게 말을 건넵니다. 파사드는 하중을 지지하던 전통적인 역할을 내려놓고, 구조 프레임 앞에 놓인 가벼운 외피로 변모합니다. 구조와 공간은 비로소 동시에 지각될 수 있게 됩니다.
건축은 여기서 양식적 제스처로 존재하지 않습니다. 사용과 시공, 그리고 생산이 맺는 필연적인 결과로서, 가장 솔직한 형태로 우리 앞에 서 있습니다.
