DDP Showroom Reception Desk
동대문디자인플라자(DDP) 디자인랩 건물 2층에 위치한 DDP 쇼룸에 리셉션 데스크를 설치했습니다. 동대문 지역의 큰 축인 의류 산업을 지원하는 이 곳은 전 세계 다양한 바이어와 소비자가 방문해 국내 젊은 패션 브랜드 활동을 살펴보고 구매할 수 있는 비즈니스 공간입니다.
서울의 현대적 세련미를 강조하고자 미러 스테인리스 스틸 소재만을 활용하여 미니멀하고 도시적인 미감의 리셉션 데스크를 디자인 및 제작하였습니다. 미러 스테인리스 스틸을 절곡 방식으로 가공해 최소한의 곡면으로 만들고 날렵함을 극대화했습니다. 여기에 산업 부속품인 리벳을 반복적으로 적용하여 테이블과 스크린의 구조를 완성했습니다.
대형 스크린 옆면이 오픈된 타입으로 디자인적인 특징을 부여하고 리벳을 활용한 내부 구조가 어두운 조도 안에서 은은하게 비치도록 했습니다. 스크린 뒤쪽의 데스크 공간에는 쇼룸 직원 4명이 업무를 볼 수 있으며 세계 각국의 바이어가 대여하고 반납하는 옷들을 정리하고 수납 가능하도록 구성했습니다.
This is the reception desk installation at the DDP showroom located on the second floor of the DDP Design Lab. It serves as a business space that supports the apparel industry, a key sector in the Dongdaemun area, and allows buyers and consumers from around the world to visit, observe, and purchase from domestic young fashion brands.
To emphasize the modern sophistication of Seoul, the reception desk was designed, produced, and installed using only mirror-finished stainless steel material, creating a minimal and urban aesthetic. The high-quality mirror stainless steel was maximized in sleekness using a folding technique that incorporates minimal radius. The installation’s structure was completed by repeatedly utilizing rivets, a typical industrial component, to form the table and screen.
The design features an open side next to the large front screen, intentionally allowing the internal rivet structure to subtly shine in the low light. The desk space behind the large screen accommodates four showroom staff members, providing an organized area for sorting and storing clothes rented and returned by buyers from all over the world.
