Cy stool and chair
Materials and knowledge form the foundation of structure. The Cy collection explores how the intangible knowledge within our spaces and the tangible traits of books such as texture, size, color, and thickness can converge into an intellectual object. It seeks a link between the dense abstraction of 1960s and 1970s art and contemporary design thinking.
The geometric details, executed in a singular 6mm aluminum specification, strip away conventional notions of furniture to focus entirely on the linear structure itself. The intervals designed between the aluminum plates grant the minimum functionality of a stool or chair, while visually demonstrating the structural tension of the piece. The exposed hex bolts reveal the honesty of the making process, completing a new dialogue between material and form.
The interval, central to this collection, is both a visual distance and an intentional delay that pauses our gaze. This subtle entry point slows our pace, preventing a hurried consumption of the object and serving as a refined device to heighten our awareness of structure and materiality.

6mm 알루미늄 단일 규격을 활용한 기하학적 디테일은 가구의 고정관념을 지우고 형태 자체의 선형적 구조자체에 집중하게 만듭니다. 판재와 판재 사이에 설계된 틈(Interval)은 스툴과 의자라는 최소한의 기능적 타당성을 획득하는 동시에, 전체 구조의 인장력을 시각적으로 증명하는 기술적 장치입니다. 결합을 위해 노출된 육각 렌치 볼트는 제조 공정의 현재의 솔직함을 드러내며, 사물이 가진 소재와 구조의 새로운 대화를 완성합니다.
컬렉션에서 핵심이 되는 간격은 시각적으로 인지되는 물리적 거리인 동시에, 그 빈틈에 시선이 머무는 찰나의 시간적 지연을 의도적으로 유도합니다. 이 미묘한 틈새는 사물을 급하게 소비하지 않도록 우리의 호흡을 늦추며, 구조와 물성을 더 깊이 있게 감각하게 만드는 정제된 장치입니다.
